Admiral David Farragut - Farragut/Knoxville Tennessee
Historical -Here's a Portrait of Admiral David Glasgow Farragut, the first commissioned Admiral of the United States Navy and best known for his statement, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead". The Farragut Folklife Museum and Gift Shop, houses this nationally sought after collection of artifacts such as Farragut's personal china, uniform ornamentation, family photographs, manuscripts, letters of interest and a large collection of scrimshaw.  Admission to the Museum is free - hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive.
